Cementirossi S.p.A. (or Industria Cementi Giovanni Rossi) was founded at the beginning of the twentieth century. The group’s headquarter is located in Piacenza.
Over the years the company has had a remarkable development that has enabled it to bring the production capacity of cement and hydraulic binders from a few thousand tons to over 2.5 million tons / year. Cementirossi S.p.A. can count on two production plants located respectively in Piacenza and Pederobba (TV). Its target market, given the high incidence of transport costs, is represented by Northern Italy, a geographic area that represents only one-third of the national territory, but which absorbs a value of approximately 50% of the Italian consumption of hydraulic binders. The main customers are concrete manufacturers, retailers of building materials and manufacturers. Given the very great importance of the channel of concrete batching plants, Cementirossi SpA embarked long ago on a business strategy that seeks to consolidate its market share through direct investment in this important area of use. This integration has resulted in the Cementirossi Group developing an activity in the concrete sector that now represents a significant share of the company’s turnover.
Cementirossi S.p.A. produces a wide variety of hydraulic binders, including even special products with high technology, (such as microfine cements for injections of consolidation, waterproofing, or restoration and cements for innovative applications in the building) which further strengthen the image on a market, where the brand Cementirossi is always guarantee of high product quality.
Cementirossi S.p.A. always uses the most advanced and modern production technologies applied not only to the production of hydraulic binders, but also the protection of the environment: as a matter of fact, Cementirossi is certified UNI EN ISO9001 and UNI EN ISO14001.
At present Cementirossi covers 5% of the national share and employs 285 people. In 2014 Cementirossi sold more than one million tons of cement and it had a turnover of 65 million euro.
Within TASIO project CROSSI, WP7 leader, will host the pilot plant and will give all the technical support for its installation, testing, maintenance and running.
